Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of mac-apps products, including MidClick and any future apps published under the mac-apps brand. By downloading, installing, or using our software, you agree to these Terms.

1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, mac-apps grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the software on up to five (5) personal Macs associated with your Apple ID.

For users not signed into iCloud, the license is bound to a single Mac via an anonymous device fingerprint.

2. Permitted use

You may:

• Install and use the software on your own personal Macs (up to 5 per license)
• Receive all updates released during the lifecycle of the major version
• Use the software for personal, non-commercial purposes

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the software
• Share your license key with users outside your personal Apple ID family
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software (except as permitted by applicable law)
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the software for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local laws
• Attempt to bypass daily usage limits through automated means or tampering

4. Free vs Pro license

The free version of MidClick includes all features but is limited to 300 middle-clicks per calendar day. The Pro license removes this limit and allows installation on up to 5 personal Macs.

Pro licenses are one-time purchases and never expire. You receive all future updates at no additional cost.

5. Payment & billing

Payments are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. By purchasing a Pro license, you agree to Creem's terms of service in addition to these Terms. Local taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) are calculated and collected by Creem based on your billing address.

Prices are listed in US dollars and may vary slightly when displayed in other currencies due to exchange rate fluctuations.

7. Intellectual property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the software (including all source code, designs, logos, and trademarks) are owned by mac-apps. Your license confers a right to use the software but does not transfer ownership.

"mac-apps", "MidClick", and associated logos are trademarks of mac-apps. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.

8. License enforcement

To prevent commercial license sharing (which would harm our ability to continue developing the app), we enforce a 5-device limit per Apple ID. We may deactivate licenses that violate these Terms, including but not limited to:

• Use across unrelated Apple IDs
• Public distribution of license keys
• Tampering with local license storage

We do not enforce license limits on legitimate personal use, even if you reinstall macOS or upgrade your hardware.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every macOS configuration or third-party application.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, mac-apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the software.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software (or $0 for the free version).

11. Termination

Your license remains valid indefinitely unless terminated. We may terminate or suspend your license if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease using the software and may be required to uninstall it.

Refunded licenses are automatically deactivated and no longer grant usage rights.

12. Updates to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and on our blog at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) for arbitration in Shanghai.
